Located in province of Zamora, Toro has quickly became extremely popular around the world. However this wine region is not new, the village of Toro is extremely old and the wine that Christopher Columbus drank on his boats was from Toro. This wine region was classified as a DO in 1987 and will probably be one of the best quality wine regions in Spain within the next 10 years.
